Low-Cost Spay & Neuter

Are you looking to spay or neuter your cat or dog? Spay Baton Rouge can help! We provide low-cost spay and neuter services to qualified pet owners.

Why low-cost?
Spaying and neutering is the most humane and logical long-term solution to helping decrease the number of unwanted and homeless cats and dogs within a community, and lowering the euthanasia rate of healthy, adoptable animals. It is Spay Baton Rouge’s goal to make sure that spay and neuter services are affordable for all loving pet owners in East Baton Rouge Parish.

How “low” is low-cost?
Our co-pay is on a sliding scale, based on a client’s income and need. Spay Baton Rouge suggests the following co-pays, but if the prices still sound a little high, apply anyway! We really want to help have your pet spayed or neutered.

Cats: $45  |  Dogs: $100

Foster-to-Adoption

Spay Baton Rouge launched a pilot Foster-to-Adoption Program for felines in March 2026. We applied and were approved as an official PetSmart Adoption Partner, and currently we have kProgramennel space in the Everyday Adoption Centers at the Millerville (Baton Rouge) and Juban Crossing (Denham Springs) store locations. The Foster-to-Adoption Program was enacted to help divert cats and kittens from entering crowded municipal shelters and to prevent re-homing of “Free and fertile” cats and kittens via social media like Nextdoor and Facebook. While the program set a goal of re-homing 100 cats and kittens in 2026, the program has shown early signs of success, with more than 50 successful adoptions in the first 4 months alone. At this time we are not formally open for intake, but still evaluating the program, its costs, and viability for the future. If you would like to foster or volunteer, please complete the volunteer link below.
